June Instructor Course – Omaha, Nebraska

The Mid-West Appraisers Association held their biennial Instructor Course in Omaha, Nebraska on June 26, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel. The course is required for all instructors who teach for the Mid-West Appraisers Association and the Trans-American Institute of Professional Studies.
Instructors attending include: Lynne Heiden, Dale Morrison, Jack Seuntjens, Barry Shea, Dan Stoeber, and Ann Susko. A special thank you to our reviewers who provided critiques and feedback to assist the instructors with improving their teaching skills: Jeff Honas, Larry Saxton, Patricia Smith and Greg Seaton.
Emphasis was placed on topics that all instructors must have a good in-depth understanding of including USPAP, real estate markets and participants, the value principles, highest and best use, the approaches to value and appropriate teaching techniques. All instructors were required to provide a 20 minute presentation on a relevant topic.
The instructors unanimously decided that the facility at the Omaha Doubletree Hotel is an excellent location for the fall education conference to be held October 6 – 9, 2009. The conference center on the 19th floor of the hotel provides an excellent learning atmosphere as well as good food and extra amenities.
